My Vintage Treasures
It was stupendously sunny today, perfect for hunting through resale shops. I just discovered Vera (yellow placemats and napkins), at Fairy Godmother's House. The owner was nice enough to give us a little background information on this textile designer and now I'm hooked!
These will surely be a part of one of my 1950s-60s table settings.

Is this why I keep hanging on?
To the grandmother's aluminum meatloaf pan, the jello molds, her crystal cut punch bowl and 24 matching cups, the lace table runner that my great grandmother tatted!
Yet, when company comes over...it's the bbq grill, and oversized coffee cups, and if they are good friend...paper plates and plastic forks.
I could open up a vintage store in my basement...I hang onto it because of the memories, because of the history it represents, but don't expect to be invited over and be served jello in the shape of a flying fish! Rather, be prepared for good conversation and a lot of laughs... and forks and spoons that don't match.

vera made scarves too - they're still pretty easy to find
